King.info Aims to Change ‘Search’
October 27, 2009
King.info is a search engine which derives its input from those using it. The results, descriptions for results and at what search terms the results should be found are all added by the very same users as those using the search engine for ordinary search queries. It is also the users of the search who are ranking results for various search terms by casting votes.”There are no ranking algorithms or spiders crawling the web, instead think of this as a hybrid between a wiki and a traditional search engine”, explains king.info founder Jonas Duxen.

The only way for information to be truly free is if the tools by which to find information are equally free as the information itself. ![]() |
King.info is structured as to encourage a dialogue between users building the search. Thus creating a community where userscould tap into the knowledge of each other and gain synergy effects from the collective as a whole. The aim is to make search more of an open contributed project where everyone wanting to take part of building search could be able to do so. “Today search is viewed as a closed, completed product where ordinary users have nothing to contribute more than using search to find whatever they are looking for. The goal with king.info is to change this passive view of search”, says Jonas Duxen. He adds, “The only way for information to be truly free is if the tools by which to find information are equally free as the information itself.”

Dubai.info sells for $35,000
January 14, 2009
Dubai.info sold for $35,000 this week at sedo.com
A very tidy sale, but generic one and two worders and particlarly geo .info domains do sell extremely well. Geo fits the extension perfectly.
Privacy is applied to whois details, so we shall need to wait and see who the new owner is.
Looks like it is being developed out as we speak.
couple of good .info sales
December 27, 2008
There were a couple of nice .info domain sales at sedo.com this week:
envelope.info 6,000 euros
mack.info 5,000 euros
irrepressible.info by amnesty international
October 28, 2008
irrepressible.info is another fantastic incentive and move by the wonderful amnesty international. All our freedoms are being eaten away daily . The internet is the biggest venue for freedom of speech, ‘they’ want to take it away. Whilst some areas no doubt need cleaning up etc, we cannot allowcorrupt governments to control and fail where they have so many times before. Follow the Link and sign the e-petition. It takes literally 10 seconds. Thanks for your help.
Be irrepressible
Chat rooms monitored. Blogs deleted. Websites blocked. Search engines restricted. People imprisoned for simply posting and sharing information.
The Internet is a new frontier in the struggle for human rights. Governments – with the help of some of the biggest IT companies in the world – are cracking down on freedom of expression … learn more
“An Amnesty International delegation handed in a petition of 50,000 signatures to this pledge in November 2006 at the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Athens, before an audience of governments and companies from across the world.
The IGF process continues and so does Amnesty’s fight for freedom of expression online. Irrepressible.info will continue to collect signatures to the pledge and use them to campaign against internet repression.
The more people who sign up, the louder our voice. Please read and sign our pledge.” More details here: irrepressible.info/pledge

Great .info sales continue
September 17, 2008
.info is going from strength to strength
some sales from dnjournal today:
portugal.info $8,000 (snapnames)
strom.info $29,600 (sedo)
tarife.info $14,100 (sedo) ‘tax’ in french
offshore.info $4,601 (sedo)
Country .info domains are reserved by icann and cannot drop, look at whois details for france.info
It expired in 2006 for example. Other notable sites that actually have great developed sites are Germany.info & Spain.info
Therefore i consider a great tourist hotspot like Portugal having a potential big domain name like Portugal.info being snapped up for $8,000 a real steal!
