Pleased to announce 2 new sony mobile sites.
The first is SonyPictures.mobi
The website is set to autodetect your mobile device so can only be accessed via your mobile phone. If you are viewing this article via your pc you can make use of these resources, including mtld’s ‘ready.mobi’ service to view the site;

Sony have made a lot of use of subdomains with the sonypictures domain and can cleverly use it for marketing purposes and just change sites on a whim using different subdomains. A tactic I think we will see more and more for mobile websites and marketing in general rather than having tired static or heavy sites.

TAB is Australia’s largest retail betting network.
Tabcorp offers one of the widest ranging Racing and Sports betting services on the internet.
In my opinion Betting will be one of the biggest areas in the mobile internet initially.
Great to see a big player adopting .mobi from the word go.
They are actively promoting as well. A well respected domainer was betting on the Caulfield Cup recently and noticed that Tab.mobi sponsored a few races at different tracks!

BlackBerry smartphones are now providing the latest hockey news, including blogs, features and full-colour action shots, courtesy of Toronto-HQ’d The Hockey News magazine, a publication of Transcontinental Media. Already, over 2000 users worldwide have downloaded the application.
The Hockey News features will be available exclusively on a range of BlackBerry smartphones for four weeks until Oct. 15, after which time other smartphones can get on board.
Developed by Toronto-based Polar Mobile, the application, which sends and stores hockey news, can be downloaded free of charge. Consumers can forward articles and invite others to use the application using special viral features on their phones.
A promotional campaign by Polar Mobile, which is also handling media buys, targets key mobile destinations, such as The Hockey News‘ mobile homepage, newsletter and website. Transcontinental is featuring the application on its website and on sister properties (including print and online publications). Ads are also found elsewhere on the web and in mobile spaces, reaching hockey and BlackBerry enthusiasts. The campaign will run to the end of the year, with additional activities still to be announced for 2009.
“We want to provide our readers with an additional way of accessing THN content and reach out - via the mobile vehicle - to new readers who may have not been aware of THN previously,” says Edward Fraser, editor of thehockeynews.com.

This site is so fun, great looking site but packed with fun features which is sure to spread virally.
You can get the ‘animal’ to give your mates some stick and send them a phonecall or text message for jokes and get ‘it’ to shout jokes down the phone, it’s hilarious.
